The PL228 is a full-body electric patient lift, designed to fully lift patients from bed, floor, or chair. The only difference between the PL228 and PL182 is the 500 lb weight limit, as opposed to 400 lb limit for the PL182. The PL228 differs from the SA228/228H, which is a sit-to-stand (stand assist) lift intended for patients who can bear partial weight and only need assistance standing and transferring. The PL228 operates entirely by electric actuation and features a six-point spreader bar, while the SA228 uses a sit-to-stand mechanism with options for electric or hydraulic actuation (the SA228H model). Since the only difference is the weight limit, the PL182 videos all apply to the PL228.
